3D Modeling
3D modeling is the starting point for every project completed in our laboratory. Using professional CAD software, we create accurate three-dimensional models that take into account manufacturing tolerances, materials, and end-use functionality.
Each model is developed in close collaboration with the client, from the initial briefing to the final version approved before printing. We work both on new concepts from scratch and on existing objects to replicate or improve.
Our engineering approach guarantees production-ready models (DFM — Design for Manufacturing): optimized geometries, precise surfaces, and a final file compatible with any printing or processing technology. We serve clients in Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno, and throughout Ticino.
3D Printing
The MATRO laboratory has high-precision FDM and resin 3D printers to meet every technical and aesthetic need.
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printing is ideal for technical components, functional prototypes, mechanical spare parts, and medium - to large - sized objects. We use technical materials such as PLA, PETG, ASA, and TPU, choosing the most suitable one based on the application. Resin printing is the right choice when fine details, smooth surfaces, and high tolerances are required: perfect for aesthetic prototypes, technical jewelry, miniatures, and precision components.
Each print is verified, post-processed, and delivered ready for use. We produce single pieces on request and small series. Fast delivery times, with pickup at the laboratory in Savosa or shipping throughout Ticino.
Thanks to Mario Alzate's specialized training in Civil Engineering—with direct experience at engineering firms in Ticino—we offer a comprehensive service of surveys and technical drawings for civil procedures, notarial deeds, and documentation for municipal technical offices.
We produce floor plans, elevations, cross-sections, and construction documentation compliant with Ticino cantonal regulations. This service is available to private individuals, notaries, engineering firms, and architects in the Canton of Ticino. Delivery in paper and digital formats (DXF/PDF).
Civil technical drawings
Rapid prototyping
Rapid prototyping is the most requested service by startups, artisans, and companies looking to validate an idea before investing in production. In 48 hours, we create a physical, working prototype of your product, which you can hold, test, and improve.
This service is also invaluable for those with broken or discontinued items: thanks to reverse 3D modeling and printing, we can reconstruct unique pieces and extend the life of machinery, appliances, design objects, or sports equipment.
Available for clients in Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno, and Mendrisio. Response within 24 hours, prototype delivery within 48 hours of project confirmation.
3D Printer maintenance
Do you have a 3D printer that isn't performing as expected? We offer maintenance, calibration, repair, and optimization services for all major brands. This service also includes printer kit assembly and slicing software configuration.
Available both in our laboratory in Savosa and, upon request, at the customer's premises in Ticino.
